Wahlen an der TH?

Ja, klar! Als StudentIn an der TH hast du ein Mitbestimmungsrecht und kannst einmal im Jahr die studentischen Vertreter mehrere wichtiger Gremien in der TH wählen oder natürlich auch selbst für diese Posten kandidieren.

Was wird gewählt?

Bei der Wahl im Mai wird der Fachschaftsrat (der eigenen Fakultät, also Gummersbacher wählen Gummersbacher) und das Studierendenparlament StuPa (hochschulweit) gewählt. Mehr Infos zu den Gremien unten.

Wie kann ich wählen?

Es wird vom 17. bis 21. Mai Wahllokale in Gummersbach und Köln geben, aber bitte nutze die Briefwahl. Die Unterlagen kannst du jetzt schon anfordern, spätestens bis zum 11.05. (12 Uhr). So geht’s:

Bitte nutzt euer demokratisches Recht, sodass wir ein engagiertes Studierendenparlament, sowie Fachschaftsräte erhalten, die euch passend vertreten und unterstützen.

Welche konkreten Kandidaten stehen zu Wahl?

Die Kandidaten stellen sich in der Wahlzeitung vor (FS GM S. 18, StuPa ab Seite 25). Von einigen gibt es zudem Videos.

Warum sollte ich wählen?

Ganz simpel: Weil alle Gremien, um die es geht, wichtig sind. Und je mehr Stimmen die “richtigen Leute” bekommen, desto besser können sie uns Studierende dort vertreten. Darum geht es in den Gremien:

Der Fachschaftsrat z.B. ist für eure Vertretung vor Ort und kann euch bei allerlei Anliegen helfen die im Studium aufkommen können. Er ist auch da, um euch zu informieren über neuste Ereignisse an der Hochschule. Auch ist der Fachschaftsrat hauptverantwortlich für Events wie die Mensa Madness-Party, das Sommerfest, die Kneipentour, die Hacking-Workshops oder das Campus Grillen und, und, und.

Das Studierendenparlament ist an der TH Köln das höchste beschlussfassende Wahlgremium (Organ) der verfassten Studierendenschaft. Es wählt und kontrolliert den Allgemeinen Studierendenausschuss (AStA) und beschließt unter anderem die Satzung sowie den Haushalt der Studierendenschaft.

Elections at the University?

Yes, of course! As a student at the University, you have a right of co-determination and can elect the student representatives of several important committees in the University once a year or, of course, run for these positions yourself.

What is elected?

At the election in May the student council (of your own faculty here in Gummersbach) and the student parliament “StuPa” (university-wide) are elected. More info about the committees below.

How can I vote?

There will be polling stations in Gummersbach and Cologne from May 17 to 21, but please use the absentee ballot. You can request the documents now up until May 11th (12 noon). This is how it works:

The documents will then be sent to you shortly before the election. Postage costs for the return of your ballot papers will of course not be charged.

Please use your democratic right so that we get a committed student parliament as well as student councils that represent and support you appropriately.

Which specific candidates are up for election?

The candidates introduce themselves briefly in the election newspaper. It will be published at the beginning of May.

Why should I vote?

Quite simply: Because all the committees that are at stake are important. And the more votes the “right people” get, the better they can represent us students there. That’s what the committees are all about:

The student council (or Fachschaft), for example, is there to represent you and can help you with all kinds of issues that may arise during your studies. It is also there to inform you about the latest events at the university. The student council is also responsible for events like the Mensa Madness-Party, the summer party, the pub crawl, the hacking workshops or the campus barbecue and so on.

The student parliament (StuPa) is the highest decision-making body of the student body at the TH Köln. It elects and controls the General Student Committee (AStA) and, among other things, decides on the statutes and the budget of the student body.
